Michael Greco is a Philadelphia-based guitarist, composer, arranger and educator.  His deep love and reverence for music as a child first led him to study music at Philadelphia's Creative and Performing Arts High School as a guitarist and cellist, then eventually to Boyer College of Music at Temple University.  He majored in jazz performance, honing his craft in Terrell Stafford’s Big Band and other distinguished ensembles. In addition to studying music, he began to play regularly at local jazz clubs and teach private lessons. At University of the Arts, Michael combined his passions for music and teaching by completing a graduate degree in Music Education.

Michael currently works for the Philadelphia School District as a K-12 music instructor, but continues to perform and compose regularly.  “Heavy Strings”, released in December 2018, is his first solo effort. Showcasing his virtuoso and eclectic music taste, this album features mostly original compositions with a few well-known covers.  Though his influences are diverse and range from Wes Montgomery to Joe Satriani, it is clear that Michael has carved out a sound of his own. Hailing from South Philly, he hopes to continue the legacy of great guitarists like Pat Martino, Jimmy Bruno, and Kurt Rosenwinkel . It appears he is on his way.
